The presents are bought.
The teacher gifts are delivered.
There are cookies, breads and other yummies to enjoy baking.
The boys are excited (their parents are too! Can’t wait for the surprise).
The fire is lit.
The lights are on.
Candles are flickering.
Though there are many worries trying to creep their way into our Christmas celebrations, I am steadfast that those too can wait. The anxiety, the “what if’s,” and the “could have been’s’” are behind me for now. The disappointment in gifts purchased have been laid to rest. The disappointment in failing to fully “execute” Advent in our home on a nightly basis has been put aside with plans for the next year’s celebration.
For now, I am focused on the most important gift—what was done for me, sacrificed for me and the reason that I am saved from eternal death. My hope and prayer is that you are focused on the same tiny child whose birth we celebrate.
From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas. May your days be filled with warmth, family, love, good fellowship and rich blessings.
Merry Christmas and God Bless,
C-re, Hunter, and the boys
